This year, Commission on the Status of Women 69th Session, offers more than 800 events with speakers from all over the world to review the Beijing Declaration and Platform for action, including three Parallel Events organized by Graduated Women International – GWI.

2. Education: Only Way to Solve Old and Modern Antifeminisms. 12 March 2025, 12:30 – 2:00 pm Easters Standard Time, Methodist Union Room (Hybrid Event)
Antifeminisms are ideologies, beliefs, and movements that oppose women’s rights all over the world. They represent a cultural structure within many countries to differing degrees. The practice of girl marriage shows how antifeminist attitudes can lead to the oppression and marginalization of girls and women. From our two videod interviews each telling their own story of being a child bride we learn how such women have to prioritise domestic work and childcare over education and career ambitions. This will fuel a discussion on educational strategies for making a difference to influence related sociopolitical structures such as culture religion, and poverty. 3. Women in Power and Leadership Accelerating Advancement Towards Gender Equity. March 20 2025, 16:30 – 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (Virtual)
Despite progress, women remain under-represented in leadership roles across all sectors: politics, business, government, and international organizations. Women leaders bring diverse perspectives and drive inclusive, foster innovation and sustainable policies, yet embedded barriers hinder their access to pivotal roles of decision-making and power nor reach mass representation. To ensure women’s leadership is the norm, not an exception, we must analyze intersectional factors shaping public perceptions and address systemic obstacles. We can promote equitable leadership and build a gender-responsive future by dismantling exclusionary barriers and advocating for policy reforms. CSW69 Priority and Review Themes
The main focus of the sixty-ninth session will be on the review and appraisal of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and the outcomes of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly.
The review will include an assessment of current challenges that affect the implementation of the Platform for Action and the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of women and its contribution towards the full realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
