As part of the International Day of the Girl, an outstanding conference held by musicologist Irène Minder-Jeanneret was organized in collaboration with the CLAFG (Center de Liaison des Associations Féminines Genevoises) and the AGFDU (Geneva Association of University Women), highlighting the fascinating figure of Caroline Boissier-Butini (1786-1836), Genevan pianist and composer of the 19th century.
Excerpts from Concerto No. 3 for piano by Miaomiao Li, professor at the Geneva Conservatory of Music, accompanied this presentation.

This event was followed by a magnificent concert at the Victoria Hall in Geneva on the occasion of International Women’s Day girl organized by CLAFG and AGFDU: “Compositrices en lumière” by the Orchestra of Nations, under the direction of Antoine Marguier and Silvina Peruglia. Three soloists: Miaomiao LI (piano), Jessica TALEC (violin), Anna MINTEN (cello) honored five female composers, including Caroline Boissier-Butini.

Valuable partners such as — the City and State of Geneva, the UN, UN Women and the Commission of the Status of Women (CSW) joined this exceptional concert aiming to highlight female talent and leadership in classical music.
