Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to contribute the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67), taking place virtually, in person and hybrid at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 6-17 March 2023.

- Priority theme: Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls
- Review theme: Challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-second session)

Innovative Ideas in Education and Advocacy to Empower Women and Girls
14 March 2023, 4 p.m. Central European Time
Developed by GWI Vice President Education, Shirley Gillett, GWI Vice President, Advocacy, Shaila Rao Mistry, with contributions from the GWI Education and Membership Committees, the parallel event will consider new and innovative ways to approach education and advocacy work for women and girls. The question of how we should incorporate technological innovations to help women in girls to attain better education fulfilling Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 will be explored. Participants will hear real-life examples, including those due to the COVID-19 working conditions, and audience participation is valued at this workshop

Gender Equality in Digital Education: Young Women and Financial Challenges

This parallel event is developed by GWI Treasurer and Young Member Network (YMN) President, Sudha Srivastava, and GWI Executive Director, Stacy Dry Lara, with the contributions from GWI YMN. As the world is moving exponentially to the digital age of education transformation, financial barriers persist to digital access for women and girls. This interactive event will explore gender disparities, due to financial factors, in accessing technological advances in education with examples from rural and urban areas. An expert panel comprised of four GWI YMN will present financial challenges for young women in today’s digital world. A range of innovative solutions from various collaborations will be presented. There will be opportunities for audience discussion interaction via opinion polls, breakout sessions and round of QA.
