Throughout the world, a significant underrepresentation of women in sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) has been observed for years. Evidence today shows that only one in three scientists is a woman!
UNESCO and Gender Scan are committed to promoting opportunities for women and girls pursuing scientific and technological studies and careers through a new survey aimed at identifying structural inequalities and societal norms limiting their full participation in these fields.
Our organization is a partner of Gender Scan, a survey that has been investigating levers to enable gender balance in science and new technologies for sixteen years.
The survey results will be analyzed to inform discussions and policy directions at the G20 Summit in November 2024.
The “employee” part of the survey mainly focuses on the perception of gender equality within the organization, work organization, career management, parental support, and sexist prejudices.

You can act and make a difference by spending 15 to 20 minutes to respond to a survey. Women, men, non-binary, in tech, STEM or any other sector, everyone is welcome.
We kindly ask you to disseminate this message to organizations that could relay this survey among male and female employees in the scientific or technical sectors, both public and private.
Please note: the questions in this “dynamic” survey are tailored in real-time to the respondents’ profiles.
